Now based in Brooklyn, she continues her family&#8217;s artistic expression in film, on stage and in her writing.<\/p>\n<p>In 2012, Carmen won the HBO New York International Latino Film Festival Short Film Competition with The Acting Lesson, which she followed up with her second short, A Queen without His Crown. Most recently she was featured in Steven Soderbergh\u2019s SIDE EFFECTS and has written op-eds for The New York Times, Huffington Post and NBC News Latino.
