BRONX, NY (April 26, 2019)<\/strong> \u2014 The Bronx Children\u2019s Museum<\/strong> (http:\/\/www.bronxchildrensmuseum.org<\/a>) will host its third annual gala on May 7, 2019, in New York City at Manhattan\u2019s Gotham Hall. The theme of this year\u2019s celebration is \u201cBronx-grown,\u201d celebrating the ingenuity and imagination of the children \u2013 past, present and future \u2013 born or raised in the Bronx.<\/p>\n

The event raises funds for the organization\u2019s highly-sought-after, community-based programming in arts, culture and natural sciences, as well as the expansion into its new flagship facility\u2014 opening in 2020.<\/p>\n

The night will celebrate #BronxGrown innovators across generations for their contributions to the borough\u2019s abounding culture, and commitment to the community. Hollywood legend, and EGOT recipient, Rita Moreno<\/strong> (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award winner), Hip-hop community leader, top entertainment agent and Roc Nation executive Shawn \u201cPecas\u201d Costner<\/strong>, along with prolific architect and landscape designer, Jonathan Marvel<\/strong>, will be honored at the ceremony hosted by fellow Bronx-born star, Sunny Hostin<\/strong>, co-host of ABC\u2019s The View.<\/p>\n

Thanks to an engaged public and support from high-profile, Bronx natives like Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor<\/strong>, as well as confirmed gala attendees, actress, and Bronx Children\u2019s Museum Chair member, Kerry Washington<\/strong>, and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr<\/strong>., the museum is on track to redefine children\u2019s museums for the 21st century.<\/p>\n

Eight-time Grammy nominee and #BronxGrown musician, Bobby Sanabria<\/strong> whose recent work, West Side Story Reimagined<\/em>, Grammy-nominated for Best Latin Jazz Album in 2018, will light up the stage with a musical performance complementing a night revering the incomparable original West Side Story icon, Rita Moreno<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
