Led by lead singer <\/span><\/span>Martha <\/span><\/span>Davis<\/span><\/span>, <\/span><\/span>The Motels<\/span><\/span> will perform their greatest <\/span><\/span>hits on Saturday, September 28, including <\/span><\/span>their chart-topping hit \u201cSuddenly Last Summer\u201d, which is being prominently featured next month in the final season of AMC\u2019s \u2018American Horror Story\u2019 and \u201cOnly The Lonely<\/span><\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/span>, among others<\/span><\/span>. \u00a0<\/span><\/span>Davis <\/span><\/span>will <\/span><\/span>also <\/span><\/span>participate in a panel discussing the <\/span><\/span>birth of New Wave<\/span><\/span> music<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>NostalgiaCon\u2019s<\/span><\/span> concert<\/span><\/span>s are<\/span><\/span> open to <\/span><\/span>attendees who have either purchased a <\/span><\/span>one day <\/span><\/span>pass for <\/span><\/span>a designated concert day or who have paid for the show\u2019s<\/span><\/span> two-day pass.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The first incarnation of The Motels formed in Berkeley, California in 1971, and they were known as the Warfield Foxes. After moving to Los Angeles in 1975, they changed their name to The Motels, signing to Capitol Records in 1979. \u00abOnly the Lonely\u00bb and \u00abSuddenly Last Summer\u00bb, earned Gold Record status, peaking at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, in 1982 and 1983, respectively.
