La actividad se llevará a cabo en el área del Club House de The River Village, en Ciudad Jardín Gurabo, y reunirá a familias, vecinos e invitados en torno al arte y a la transformación de una comunidad que hace pocos años se encontraba en estado de abandono.</p>
<p>Se espera la asistencia de más de 300 residentes que ya han confirmado su participación, así como de la honorable Vilmarie Peña, alcaldesa de Gurabo, del escultor Luis Torruella y de varios miembros del equipo de VRM, en un compartir comunitario y celebratorio de los avances alcanzados trabajando en comunidad.</p>
<p>Durante cerca de quince años, Ciudad Jardín Gurabo permaneció en estado de deterioro y abandono. Más de 500 familias que ya residían en la comunidad quedaron atrapadas en un entorno de áreas comunes descuidadas, instalaciones en ruinas y valores de propiedad en descenso. El Golf Club House —cuya titularidad se encontraba en manos de terceros y no de los propios residentes— yacía vandalizado y en desuso, junto a un campo de golf abandonado, canchas de tenis en desuso y una caseta de entrada deteriorada.</p>
<p>En 2021, VRM Companies asumió un compromiso que iba mucho más allá de construir y vender viviendas nuevas. La empresa inició una transformación integral —ejecutada en plena pandemia y con una inflación de costos de construcción sin precedentes— orientada a devolverle la dignidad y el valor a toda la comunidad.</p>

A la par, las canchas abandonadas dieron paso a un nuevo Racket Club con tenis, pickleball y beach tennis, la caseta de entrada fue ampliada y modernizada, y las áreas comunes fueron rehabilitadas por completo.</p>
<p>El impacto alcanzó por igual a las familias nuevas a quienes VRM les vendió su hogar y a las familias que ya vivían en Ciudad Jardín desde antes. Hoy, lo que durante años fue sinónimo de abandono es una comunidad con plusvalía, servicios y vida, sin que la transformación representara cargas adicionales para sus residentes.</p>

<p>Individuals with ALS are encouraged to share their stories, enhancing ALS data and supporting research efforts.
