MIAMI, FL – September 23, 2015 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) –Thursday September 24th, will be the opening day of ASPIRA of Florida MUSEUM SERIES empowered by The Art Experience. The first school to open this historic Museum Series will be the Raul Armando Martinez School, located at 13300 Memorial Highway, North Miami. This historic endeavor was conceived and planned since 2014 with ASPIRA of Florida CEO, George Cabrera and Susana Baker, ASPIRA Art Curator of the Art Experience.
“Mr. Cabrera has been instrumental and refreshing with his creative out-of-the-box mentality to embrace new exciting cultural programs to his schools. When the Art Experience approached Mr. Cabrera with the opportunity to collaborate with local Museums in South Florida and to create a Museum quality show annually for ASPIRA students, Mr. Cabrera was 100% supportive, and with donations and hard work, we see what was once a dream, today become a reality!” Susana Baker, stated.
Edouard Duval Carrie, is Miami’s jewel, a great contemporary artist, curator, author and father. Edouard has been collected and shown in many International and National Museum shows, collections and galleries. “We are so honored and humbled by Mr. Carrie’s donation that will be a statement for years to come of inspiration and understanding of these great freedom fighters that give independence to the first real Democracy in the Caribbean, Haiti,” said George Cabrera, CEO of ASPIRA of Florida.
The Edouard Duval Carrie Wall, will exhibit two large format paintings with Carrie’s iconic style of mix media of resin, mylar, aluminum and acrylic. From his Divine Revolution: The Art of Carrie, Pierre Toussaint, mix media, 46″ by 46″ and Creole Republique, mix media 46″ by 96″ are in large format and truly one-of-a-kind unique works of Carrie! The public is welcomed to view these unique works from Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Raoul Armando Martinez School, 13300 Memorial Highway, North Miami, Florida, along with Haitian Heritage Museum, Innovators of Freedom Show.
“With so many cutbacks being faced by our schools, and the arts always the first to be cut, I am so honored and ecstatic that ASPIRA of Florida welcomed this project and will continue the Museum Series at all its schools, with the newest one in Wynwood, ASPIRA Arts DECO: an arts, design and communication middle school. What a great treat for these kids, to walk in every morning and have their own Museum with great art and inspiration for years to come, teaching them culture and heritage with the arts, truly a true proud moment for all!” said Susana Baker, Art Curator for ASPIRA of Florida.
