Marcela Gómez-Bogomolni Miami Dade School Board Candidate Meets with Representatives in Tallahassee

MIAMI, FL – February 18, 2020 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – Marcela Gómez-Bogomolni, candidate for Miami-Dade County School Board District 3. The president of the American Consulting and Social Service League LLC, expert in foreign degree education and recertification, clinical social worker, activist, and journalist will be traveling to Tallahassee on her own budget along with the Colombian mission this February 19th, 2020; where she will have the opportunity to visit and meet state representatives. Once in the Floridian capital, Gómez-Bogomolni will be able to raise awareness of the current concern existing in our communities regarding the lack of drug prevention education programs against the use of drugs in South Florida schools. In addition, Gómez-Bogomolni will inform about the need for professional counselors to help prevent and treat cases of drug abuse, deep depression, anxiety, low self esteem, and suicidal thoughts within schools.

Gómez-Bogomolni re-states that besides treating students we must also focus on the mental health and well-being of teachers, since they share the greatest amount of time with our children. Their level of stress and the overwork has taken them away their passion for one of the most important professions in the entire world. Furthermore, our teachers’ salaries must be more in line with what they produce. Corporate trainers are paid high salaries and their students thrive. Teachers are trainers whose jobs are even harder, yet many are forced to work two jobs, and due to financial struggles, teachers can’t easily show their students in the classroom how acquiring a level of education will benefit them.

Now is the time to stop this! Now is the time to regain our worldwide leadership! To attract families to Florida based on the lure of a great education and to pay teachers a salary that they are proud of, so when they teach that is what they focus on-teaching and success. It is difficult to teach success if one has not achieved it through a comfortable life.

Marcela Gómez-Bogomolni has dedicated more than 20 years working to help educated immigrants to obtain self-sufficiency through working in their professional fields. Therefore, she is also looking to reach out to legislators and present to them how some policies have a great scale outcome in foreign trained professionals who, according to Florida legislation, must repeat at least 2 years of college studies regardless of their level of education; especially those who hold Bachelor’s degrees in areas like Surgical Assistance, Imageology, midwife etc. Florida law obligates these professionals to go to school again. Moreover, according to the regulations, they are not eligible for financial aid as they hold a degree from another country.
