LOS ANGELES, CA – March 16, 2016 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – For the second year in a row, RUIDO FEST is preparing to celebrate the diversity in alternative music from the entire Latin world, and this time with a spectacular line-up that includes already famous bands such as Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Maldita Vecindad, and La Ley as headlining acts, as well as contemporary international and emerging artists such as Carla Morrison, Natalia Lafourcade, Panteón Rococó, Aterciopelados, Los Pericos, Cuca, Miranda!, Los Cafres, Le Butcherettes and Mexrrissey.
This is the first group of artists that is being announced for the only 3-day festival of alternative Latin music in the U.S. that will unfold on three stages in Chicago. Last year’s successful debut of the festival featured a wonderful line-up of over 40 bands, including Café Tacuba, Zoe, Molotov, Kinky, Ozomatli, M.I.S., Nortec Collective, Enjambre and Porter, among others. For this second edition of RUIDO FEST, the promoters looked for a certain similarity to the festival’s first year. “We were looking to feature a diverse lineup in terms of genres and cultures represented.” stated Eduardo Calvillo, one of the event’s organizers. “We feel we have a great mix of alternative music that exists across Latin America, with emerging artists as well as headliners from Argentina, Chile and Mexico.
“This year we are also focusing on involving more local community organizations that not only promote art, but also address the societal issues that face Latin people in Chicago and abroad. Immigration, voting rights, affordable housing and the myriad of challenges faced by Ruidosos on an everyday basis. We want to work with our partners in the community to affect positive change the other 362 days of the year when they are not at Ruido Fest.”
Rock Sin Anestesia, Metronome and Star Events, the main promoters behind RUIDO FEST, confirmed that ticket pre-sales announced on February 10 exceeded all expectations, considering that none of the confirmed artists of the line-up were announced. Max Wagner, one of the promoters of this superb event, expressed that “the results of the pre-sale are based on the reputation and accolades the festival received during its first edition.”
Chicago is one of the main destinations for showcasing music from all over the world and one of the U.S. cities that holds the most music festivals, but none quite like Ruido Fest. Max Wagner assures, “We learned a million things at the Festival’s first edition, but the most important one is that RUIDO FEST’s audience is very passionate about this event and really wants this festival to succeed. Our goal will always be to make this festival better than the year before.”
