MIAMI, FL – April 8, 2016 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – Named after the Spanish-language word for an individual key on a keyboard, the 2nd Annual TECLAS were held last night at ICON Miami nightclub on Miami Beach. The awards ceremony was presented in conjunction with the awards’ Official Media Partner TELEMUNDO during Hispanicize week, the largest U.S. Hispanic marketing, media and entertainment industries event in the nation.
The award show recognized excellence across 26 categories, including a special Digital Innovation Award presented by Telemundo. The awards are a co-production of sister companies Hispanicize event and the DiMe Media creators network. The awards were headlined with a performance by Puerto Rican, global reggaeton sensation Wisin.
“The Tecla Awards honored some of the very best the industry has to offer, and we couldn’t be more proud of those nominated and awarded last night. It was a night to remember. Wisin’s performance capped off an amazing evening,” said Teclas 2016 Award Chair and Hispanicize Partner Cristy Clavijo-Kish.
The Teclas finalists were selected from among more than 1,000 nominations that were open to the public after an initial nominations phase by the 2016 Tecla Awards Nominations Academy – a group comprised of the 2016 Advisory Board and past Hispanicize attendees.
