LatinPost.com Launches ‘¿Que Dices?’ to Connect Audience With Today’s Headlines

NEW YORK, NY – August 6, 2015 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – Building on its mission of “Amplifying the voice of the Latino community,” Latin Post introduces “¿Que Dices?” (What Do You Say?) — a new video initiative that captures the opinions and reactions of their readers and the Latino community on the issues affecting them.

“Latin Post wants to do more than report the news; we want to engage and interact with our audience and create a dialogue and exchange of ideas. We want to make our readership part of our news content”

Latin Post’s “¿Que Dices?” initiative has one main goal – bring the voices of its readership and community into a collective discussion on the most prominent news headlines affecting the Latino community.

“The growth and impact of Latinos in the U.S. warrants that our voices be heard on what affects us as a community, a voting bloc and economic resource,” Latin Post Publisher Patricia Sierra-Sampson said. “Our new video series ‘¿Que Dices?’ brings not only our readership but also the Latino community at large to join our conversation and have their voices heard. Latin Post wants to do more than report the news; we want to engage and interact with our audience and create a dialogue and exchange of ideas. We want to make our readership part of our news content.”

This Friday, the “¿Que Dices?” team will be out at several locations throughout NYC from the campus at Columbia to the Financial District getting reactions from Latino students, academics, business owners, homemakers, professionals – all with something to say regarding the 2016 Republican presidential debate. LatinPost.com will also be asking their audience to submit and share their opinions via video commentary to add to the site’s coverage of this event.

LatinPost.com is a news and information website dedicated to offering acculturated, bilingual and bicultural Latinos the latest news and featured content, reflecting the growing influence of the Latino population in the U.S. and its political and economic impact. At the close of 2014, the site averaged 4.3 million unique visitors and 5 million page views.

“Latin Post continues to focus on being the go-to hub for English dominant, bicultural Latinos looking for news and information,” said Sierra-Sampson. “The majority of our readers are upwardly mobile, bicultural millennials. We believe this new Latino generation is hungry for content that connects with them in a relevant way, and our aim is to deliver stories that strike a chord with this audience.”

In addition to the new “¿Que Dices?” series, Latin Post earlier this year launched content channels that highlight the positive impact and influence Latinos are having in politics, business, entertainment, health and culture. The rollout included Turnout, a series that features leading Latino politicians, government leaders, and advocacy groups discussing and debating the most important issues facing this voting bloc. Marketplace focuses on Latino entrepreneurs who have successfully identified an opportunity and turned their ideas into a thriving enterprise. Changing the Game showcases prominent Latino changemakers and their stories of success, innovation and vision.

The U.S. Census estimates that by 2018, Latinos will account for over 18 percent of the population — a 30-percent growth in just 10 years. Much of this will be due to U.S. births rather than immigration, which will result in a higher number of acculturated and bicultural Latinos.

“Hispanic purchasing power is projected to reach $1.7 trillion by 2017, surpassing that of Asian-American and African-American minority groups,” Sierra-Sampson asserts. “This new Latino generation is a driving force in the economy, politics, and culture. They are a highly engaged, early-adoptive, trend-setting, loyal audience that should be heard. Latin Post is listening and making sure others will too.”
