LOS ANGELES, CA — October 7, 2021 — (NOTICIAS NEWSWIRE) — LATINAFest founders Bel Hernandez and Naibe Reynoso have announced they are accepting entries for the LATINAFest Hero Women Rising: Power-Up Grant. Funded by Chase Bank, the presenting sponsor for LATINAFest, the $2,500 grant will be awarded to an outstanding Latina business owner who has shown improved growth, leadership, and promise within the community. The grant recipient will be announced at LATINAFest by Dr. Betty Uribe, consumer bank divisional director for Chase’s California Region, and LatinaFest founders Hernandez and Reynoso. Visit www.latinafest.net to enter by Tuesday, October 12.

The third annual LATINAFest: Mind, Body, Soul 2021 will take place Sunday, October 17 from 11 am to 6 pm at La Plaza de Cultura y Artes in downtown Los Angeles in celebration of all things Latina. LATINAFest was created in 2018 by entrepreneurs Hernandez and Reynoso, in order to connect, support, and celebrate LATINApreneurs.

This year’s theme, #TheFutureIsLatina, reflects the growing influence of Latinas in all sectors of society. “Latina small business owners are a major driving force in our economy, our cities, and our community,” said Silvana Montenegro, head of Hispanic & Latino Initiatives at JPMorgan Chase. “It’s great to be a part of LATINAFest and celebrate the grit of Latina entrepreneurs and bring information and resources that can help them and their businesses build brighter futures.”

At LATINAFest, Chase will also present the Chase Pavilion, consisting of 10 Latino/a-owned businesses who have successfully grown their companies through a new Chase for Business program. As part of JPMorgan Chase’s $30 billion racial equity commitment, the firm launched this new program to accelerate minority small business growth in historically underserved neighborhoods. Through this initiative, Latino/a business owners are matched with a senior business consultant who provides 1:1 coaching, financial planning, business development, resources as well as access to capital. The program is available to all, Chase customers and non-customers alike.

“We are proud to be collaborating with our Presenting Sponsor Chase Bank,”’ said Bel Hernandez, CEO of Latin Heat Media and Co-Founder of LATINAFest. “Chase Bank is clearly committed to providing economic opportunity by supporting and accelerating Latina small businesses in historically underserved communities. The Chase Pavilion at LATINAFest is a grand example of its success in empowering Latina entrepreneurs, especially in Los Angeles.”

Latina entrepreneurs are seeing record growth, surging 34% over the past decade, outpacing that of any other ethnic group. By 2023, Latino/a purchasing power is expected to reach $1.9 trillion, adding up to significant economic and electoral clout.

LATINAFest: Mind, Body, Soul 2021 provides Latina entrepreneurs a space to showcase and sell their culturally relevant and innovative products. The in-person event will feature inspirational Ted Talk-like speakers, music, and dancing performances on two stages; live tapings of the award-winning The TRENDTalk show, Cocktail & VIP Gardens, an Empowerment Fashion Show, a Food Court, and much more for families and children. Event emcees are: popular Latina radio show hosts Yesi Ortiz of KNOU 97.1 and Cecilia Valencia “the Mamacita” of KDay 93.5, as well as Erika De La Cruz, best-selling author and Editor-in-Chief of The LA Girl, and Davina Ferreira, bilingual poet, author, and founder of Alegría Bilingual Media.

LatinaFest is proud to be once again partner with La Plaza de Cultura y Artes to hold their 3rd Annual LATINAFest at their beautiful venue, known as the hub of cultural events in Los Angeles.

ABC7 Los Angeles is the official media sponsor of LATINAFest. Other sponsors include Union Bank, Hornitos A Fair Shot, U.S. Small Business Administration, L.A. City Council Member Kevin de Leon, L.A. County Supervisor Hilda Solis, McDonald’s Owners Association of Southern California, and Golden Road Brewery. Community partners include Bella Entrepreneurs, The LA Girl, and USC Civic Engagement and Economic Partnerships.

For those who are unable to attend in person, there will also be a Virtual LatinaFest, which will be streamed on LATINAFest’s YouTube, Instagram and website platforms on Tuesday, October 26 at 5:00 PM with even more content, plus a recap of what happened at LATINAFest.
