CHICAGO, IL – September 23, 2019 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – Coors Light is proud to announce Sandra Raffaelli as the winner of the 2019 Coors Light Líder of the Year. For 13 years, the Coors Light Líderes program has honored the importance of leadership in the Latino community and helped emerging Latino leaders reach their potential.

This national recognition, decided by an online public voting competition, includes a $25,000 grant from Coors Light for Raffaelli to implement a Latino leadership project with her nonprofit, aZul for Better Living, Inc. The nonprofit provides training programs in fashion design, industrial design and the arts to help develop individual skills and financial independence to people with developmental disabilities. Raffaelli is among 12 outstanding Latino leaders nominated by nonprofit organizations for their leadership, achievements and lasting impact in their community.

“Sandra is an excellent representation of the meaning of leadership. She combined her love of design and her desire to help others to create a successful social impact career,” said Alberto Senior, MillerCoors community affairs director. “We are happy to recognize Sandra for her dedication to transforming the lives of those in her community through innovative training.”

“I am extremely grateful for the experience and the awareness raised during the voting campaign; my network is now more connected to the capabilities of adults with disabilities, it is very touching,” said Raffaelli. “Coors Light’s commitment to investing in programs that supports Latino leaders is commendable. The $25,000 grant will recharge my organization and allow us to help more individuals find fulfillment!”

Through nonprofit partnerships, signature programs and long-term investments that support economic development, Coors Light is helping to build stronger communities for everyone. Since 2006, the Coors Light Líderes program has recognized and highlighted the achievements of emerging Latino leaders.

After 12 finalists are chosen by an expert panel, the winner is selected through an online voting competition supported by a national advertising campaign and robust community outreach. The Coors Light Líderes program offers up-and-coming Latino professionals with leadership tools, resources and networking opportunities. Past Líderes of the Year have developed leadership programs in education, entrepreneurship, professional development, technology and the arts.

About Coors Brewing Company
Coors Brewing Company was founded in 1873 by Adolph Coors, who chose the Clear Creek Valley in Golden, Colo., for his new brewery because of the pure water in the nearby Rocky Mountain springs. The brewery’s original and most enduring beer is Coors Banquet (http://www.Coors.com, Facebook.com/CoorsBanquet, YouTube.com/OfficialCoorsBanquet), still brewed exclusively in Golden using only Rocky Mountain water and high-country barley. Coors Light (CoorsLight.com, Facebook.com/CoorsLight, @CoorsLight on Twitter, YouTube.com/CoorsLight) was introduced in 1978 and now is the second-best-selling beer in the United States. Triple-filtered smooth Keystone Light (KeystoneLight.com, Facebook.com/KeystoneLight) is one the country’s most popular economy beers.
