LOS ANGELES, CA – September 27, 2018 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – Hispanicize, the largest annual event for Latinx digital content creators today announced their renewed partnership with the California Latino Journalists News Media Association (CCNMA). The organizations revealed the list of the 15 Most Influential Latina Journalists of the Year that are to be honored at their exclusive Latina Journalists Awards Breakfast. The ceremony is taking place during the Hispanicize conference, where one of the 15 will be named the Latina Journalist of the Year and the Latina Journalist on the Rise.

“In this time of division and misunderstanding, it’s more important than ever that we recognize voices who bring context and knowledge to their beats. We are honored to join with Hispanicize as we shine a light on L.A. Latina journalists who are working hard to uncover stories that might otherwise go untold and who bring nuance and perspective to ongoing news stories,” said Laurie Ochoa, CCNMA President. “One of these remarkable women will be named Latina journalist of the year.”

From Investigative journalists to network reporters, the 15 journalists chosen for the 2018 Most Influential Latina Journalists in Southern California List are comprised of some of the hardest working journalists in the industry. CCNMA chose the 15 honorees based on the work they’ve completed in the past year, the impact of that work and each honorees reach and influence in the communities they cover.

Hosted by comedian Aida Rodriguez, the Latina Journalists awards breakfast is taking place on Friday, October 12th at 9am at the Intercontinental Hotel in Century City, Hispanicize LA’s host hotel. The breakfast ceremony is kicking-off the Hispanicize LA event and benefits the CCNMA scholarship fund.

In addition to the awards breakfast, the CCMNA is hosting a Latino Journalist Career Fair at the same venue on Wednesday, October 10th. For tickets to the career fair, the Latina Journalists awards breakfast and the entire Hispanicize LA conference, register here.
