MIAMI, FL – February 23, 2015 – HISPANICIZE WIRE – Don Francisco, a.k.a. Mario Luis Kreutzberger
Blumenfeld, the beloved Chilean entertainer who for more than 52 years has dazzled and delighted audiences through the cult hit “Sabado Gigante,” will be honored with the Latinovator Award at Hispanicize 2015. Hispanicize 2015, the sixth annual Latino trends event for filmmakers, bloggers, journalists, marketers, influencers and music artists, will take place March 16-20, at the InterContinental Hotel in Miami.
The Latinovator Awards recognize Latino celebrities, business professionals and other high achievers who have become crossover successes or whose stories of achievements are remarkable or inspirational.
“Don Francisco is one of the most enduring and iconic Hispanic entertainers in the world and we’re thrilled to know he will join us to share the secrets of his incredible career”
“For millions of Latinos, Saturdays always feel better knowing we will see Don Francisco and his wildly popular show Sabado Gigante on Univision,” said Manny Ruiz, organizer and creative director of Hispanicize 2015. “Don Francisco is one of the most enduring and iconic Hispanic entertainers in the world and we’re thrilled to know he will join us to share the secrets of his incredible career.”
In addition to his achievements on television, Don Francisco is also being recognized for his passionate support for children with physical disabilities, and his contributions to the Hispanic community.
For his charitable and television work, the man known as Don Francisco has received many awards and honors including an honorary Emmy in the United States. Possibly his biggest accomplishment is that of his Teletón responsibilities, a televised benefit for disabled children that Don Francisco has promoted and hosted for more than 30 years. Funds from Teletón have been used to build 13 rehabilitation centers in Chile and more than 70,000 children and youth with disabilities have received treatment and rehabilitation. Don Francisco first began Teletón in Chile and today several countries, including the United States, host a version of Teletón.
A few of Don Francisco’s other accomplishments include hosting the Chilean versions of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” and “Deal or No Deal.” He also hosted a more serious interview-only show that airs in the United States on Wednesdays called “Don Francisco Presenta.” In addition, Don Francisco has served as ambassador for major brands and companies; currently, he is brand ambassador for pharmaceutical leader Boehringer Ingelheim.
