Now in its 9th year, Hispanicize 2018 Week (www.HispanicizeEvent.com) (#Hispz18) is the iconic and largest annual event for Latino trendsetters and newsmakers in digital content creation, journalism, marketing, entertainment and tech entrepreneurship. Presented by Prudential Financial, the Positive Impact Awards are the ultimate VIP gala event and national award of all Hispanicize because it celebrates outstanding individuals nationwide who volunteer their time and resources to make a difference in the lives of Hispanic Americans across the country. This year’s awards feature a keynote by former HUD Secretary Julian Castro and a special musical performance by super star singer Fonseca.
This year’s winners are Wendy Carrillo, Julio Ricardo Varela and Kirk Michaelis. Each stood out above the rest for their efforts to propel action through civic engagement, accountability through journalism and selfless acts in providing humanitarian relief efforts. Created in honor of the late Hispanicize co-founder Louis Pagan, the Person of the Year award winner will be named onstage at the conclusion of the program.
