LOS ANGELES, CA – January 13, 2016 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – LatinoMediaVisions kicks off the New Year with a spectacular January screening film line-up including the West Coast Premiere of short film, Since I Laid Eyes, starring “Gold-en Girl” of the moment, Gina Rodriguez and the feature film presentation of Endgame starring Rico Rodriguez, Ivonne Coll, Justina Machado, Efren Ramirez, and Valente Rodriguez followed by an informative Q&A with the cast and filmmakers of Endgame. The screening will take place at the American Cinematheque on Thursday, January 21st, 2015 at 7:30pm with red carpet arrivals beginning at 6pm. Guests will be invited to stay for the VIP reception immediately following the program.

Feature film Endgame takes place in Brownsville, Texas, one of the most economically disadvantaged cities in the US. Since he was 5 yrs. old, Jose’s Abuelita taught him to play chess like his grandfather who was a champion in Mexico. Now as part of the Brownsville school team, Jose has the chance to use his skills and for once in his life, finds himself in the spotlight, as he tries to help his team make it to the Texas state finals. As their coach, Mr. Alvarado, teaches his students the meaning of perseverance and team effort in the face of adversity, Jose discovers his own strengths and uses them to bring his broken family together.

Endgame is written/produced/directed by Carmen Marron (Go For It!) from a story by Hector Salinas who also executive produces and wrote the script along with Marron. Endgame recently wrapped it’s theatrical run and is scheduled to have its U.S. cable premiere on HBO Latino® in July 2016. Endgame producer, Sandra Avila of Avila Entertainment negotiated the deal on behalf of the company, while also producing with Salinas’ Late Bloom-er Productions and Sparkhope Productions.

The short film presentation of Since I Laid Eyes, directed by Adel L. Morales follows two former lovers, Charlie and Ilene, who reconnect over drinks after breaking up six years ago. They explore the reasons that their secret relationship failed, while trying to decide whether or not to rekindle their dysfunctional romance.
