MIAMI, FL – October 22, 2014 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) –Art students from 15 Miami-Dade Schools who created sculptures from junk bicycles will compete this Saturday for the prize of “Best Recycling Project” in a charity benefit contest hosted by Gran Fondo Italia. Last Saturday October 11th, during the family day “La Festa Italiana”, hosted at the Coral Gables Museum, the Italian Consulate introduced the Art Contest “Re-Cycling” by Gran Fondo Italia, a charity program from KIDS to KIDS.
Circo Massimo Entertainment, with the help of the City of Miami Beach, collected junk bicycles from the streets and gave them to 15 schools of the Miami-Dade district, selected by ODLI, Inc. (Organization for the Development of the Italian Language) and IIPA (Italian International Parent Association). Students have disassembled, attached, painted and glued parts of the bikes to create a unique piece of art, as a free expression of kids’ creativity.
Three of the fifteen schools will receive the award of the “Best Recycling Project” during the event organized by Circo Massimo for Gran Fondo Italia, on Saturday October 25th at Miami Ironside (Upper East).
The jury, featuring the Vice Consul of Italy Vita Maria Valluzzi, Mrs. Federica Barattolo, Mrs. Morena Zanini and Mrs. Kerri N.Louati, will award the three best artworks. The event will be attended by institutions, personalities and press.
Artworks will be available to purchase at auction with 100% of the proceeds to benefit the MCH Foundation (Miami Children’s Health Foundation). The Foundation generates funds for Miami Children’s Hospital and supports it by providing the opportunity for members of the local and global community to invest in children’s future.
With the charity program Re-Cycling we all have the chance to donate to less fortunate kids and actively contribute.
The three winning artworks will be on display in the “History of Italian Cycling” exhibit at the Coral Gables Museum, from Oct. 28th to Nov. 7th, and all the fifteen artworks will be at the EXPO of the 2014 GRAN FONDO ITALIA in the weekend of Nov. 8th & 9th in Coconut Grove, at 2500, Pan American Drive.
