MIAMI, FL – December 7, 2016 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – The annual Hispanicize Event announced today its national call for nominations for the 2017 Positive Impact Awards (PIAs) that recognize unsung Latino and Latina heroes whose service to others has made a significant difference in their communities.

Presented in partnership with Prudential Financial, the 4th annual PIAs will accept nominations online through January 31, 2017 via the program’s website (http://hispzpia.com).

“These awards are at the heart of the Hispanicize mission to showcase the good works and contributions of Latinos to our great nation,” said Manny Ruiz, Founder and CEO of the Hispanicize Media Group that owns the Hispanicize event. “We are deeply grateful to Prudential for making this program the centerpiece of its partnership with Hispanicize. Never has there been a more important time for all Hispanic Americans to come together to bring awareness to the many ways we power and improve our country.”

“Those honored at the Positive Impact Awards share Prudential’s vision of creating lasting societal impact through their unwavering commitment to civic engagement and community service,” said Lata Reddy, vice president of corporate social responsibility at Prudential and president of The Prudential Foundation. “We are proud to once again be a part of a program that honors heroes whose sense of purpose not only drives their personal passions, but whose spirit of innovation helps create meaningful change in society at large.”

A panel of leaders from diverse industries will judge nominations for the Positive Impact Awards. Following this selection process, members of the public will have the opportunity to cast votes online to select the Positive Impact Person of the Year.

Finalists will be honored during a gala at the annual Hispanicize Event (http://www.HispanicizeEvent.com), the largest gathering of Latino trendsetters and newsmakers in the nation, hosted in Miami at the JW Marriott Hotel from April 3-6, 2017.

A History of Spotlighting Good

Since its inception in 2013, the Positive Impact Awards has honored a total of 29 outstanding Latinos across the United States who have identified areas of need within their communities and provided solutions to help fill these gaps. Through their commitment and dedication, they have created critical resources and educational programs that have helped thousands in their communities overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams while also inspiring them to give back.

Following is the criteria for Positive Impact Awards nominees:
