MIAMI, FL – February 9, 2022 – (NOTICIAS NEWSWIRE) – Dao Music’s new single and video, “Solo Pienso en Ti” (“I Only Think of You”), is poised to make a mark in the Latin music world as the first Latin K-Pop song, due to the catchy melodic lyrics but with a pop urban beat. The song tells the story of a boy who meets a girl and then sees her everywhere, even in his dreams.
The artist prepared his style and look to compliment the K-pop movement (Korean Popular Music) which has grown immensely in Latin America.
DAO Music, whose legal name is Oscar Gamboa, was born in Bucaramanga, Colombia and grew up between Bucaramanga, Santa Marta and Bogotá, where his multiple music influences come from. Since he was a child he had a strong love for art and music, which were inspired by his grandfather, Oscar Gamboa, a guitarist and singer of a Vallenato musical group. When DAO moved to Bogotá he began his acting and dance education, taking classes and workshops in the most recognized schools, such as La escuela de formación actoral para teatro, cine y TV de Julio César Bustos; the acting training school for theater, film and TV of dramatic art Casa Ensamble; stage combat workshops with Fito Rivera, as well as dance, voice and vocal technique in Performance. He finally graduated from Casa Actores with the actor/master Diego León Ospina, alias “Cusumbo”. In 2021 DAO meets the producer and music executive, Joe Granda, whose music career spans more than 40 years, as a producer, composer, manager and marketing wizard. Granda has worked with some of the biggest stars and various musical movements, from the beginning of the Disco movement with artists like Village People, Gloria Gaynor to pop artists like Madonna, Cristina Aguilera. In the beginning of the Freestyle movement he wrote and produced one of the biggest hits of this genre, “Diamond Girl” by Nice n Wild. Since then, due to his love for Latin music, Granda began working with some of the top stars of various genres, such as Natti Natasha, Gloria Trevi, Pitbull, Thalia, Paulina Rubio, Luis Fonsi, and Salsa artists like La India, Victor Manuelle, Jerry Rivera, Urban artist Alexis y Fido, Zion y Lennox, Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Ivy Queen, to mention a few. Granda has the vision of being able to turn DAO into one of the superstars of music, television, and cinema, so he signs him to a 360 deal and records his first single in the genre of Urban Latin Pop. DAO is part of the new artists that Granda will launch in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Granda’s Angel Eyes Music label which is distributed by Orchard Distribution/Sony Music.
Granda composed and produced “Solo Pienso en Ti” (I Only Think of You) with a group of talented Miami producers and songwriters: Carlos Alonso, Juan de la Cruz and Abdiel Cohalla, the Urban music composer/singer signed with superstar Wisin. Multiple Grammy winner Luis Barrera Jr. mixed the song and multiple Grammy winner Mike Fuller mastered it.
The video, filmed in Colombia, directed by Jair Meneses and produced by Granda’s Team at his audiovisual production company, Granda Entertainment LLC., features the model, actress and singer Meliza “Meli Meli,” sister of the artist. Meliza is one of the new artists signed to Granda’s label.
Granda, with his many years of experience, feels very strongly that the song has everything to become an international pop success and make a mark as the first Latin K-pop artist. The melody and the hook are very catchy, and various remix versions are being prepared to reach other markets, in electronic, pop and even salsa.
