MIAMI, FL – December 15, 2015 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – Despite the contributions and history of the Latino community in the United States, there still exists a lack of Latino representation and stories in Hollywood. To address this, Hispanicize (www.HispanicizeEvent.com), creators of the nation’s largest gathering for Latino trendsetters and media entrepreneurs, is renewing its partnership with Latino Filmmakers to coproduce the Latino Filmmakers mixer, “A Royal Social Affair II.”
The networking mixer will spotlight Latino filmmakers to support their presence in Hollywood. The event, which counts on the participation of filmmakers, industry executives, agents and the entertainment community, will take place on Monday, January 25, 2016 in Park City, Utah during the festival at the Power & Industry-Indie Lounge on Main St.
“Our growing presence in this signature initiative created by Maylen Calienes and Latino Filmmakers is all about bringing attention to under-represented Latinos in the film industry,” said Manny Ruiz, founder of the Hispanicize platforms that include the annual Hispanicize event (April 4-8 in Miami), DiMe Media, the Hispanic PR Blog and Hispanicize Wire. “Through our own film festival, which is going on five years and other initiatives like this, Hispanicize has consistently demonstrated its commitment to showcasing the talents and evolution of Latino filmmakers everywhere.”
Latino Filmmakers, whose mission is to expand the role of Hispanics in the industry by providing venues for them at the world’s most prominent film festivals and in Los Angeles, will celebrate Latino filmmakers being recognized at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. These talented individuals will participate in a conversation, encouraging the inclusion of Latinos whose films have been selected by the festival and creating a nucleus of continuing support, community, education and knowledge.
“The success of our event last year was proof that what we’re doing is in demand and very important to Latino creators and talent,” said Maylen Calienes, founder of Latino Filmmakers. “With Hispanicize’s partnership we are once again in a strong position to host a networker that will significantly amplify Latinos presence at such a significant world gathering,”
Details to RSVP for this event will be posted in January.
