MIAMI, FL — August 22, 2024 — (NOTICIAS NEWSWIRE) — Manuel Camacho, CEO and co-founder of La Doble Vida, is set to preside over the Production jury at the 2024 Ibero-American Creativity Festival (FIAP).
A veteran of the advertising industry, Camacho offers his insights into the current state and future of the sector. He underscores the significance of FIAP and the challenges facing advertising in the age of artificial intelligence.
Camacho began by emphasizing FIAP’s long-standing role as a crucial gathering place for the advertising industry in Latin America.
“FIAP has been a pivotal festival for the entire region, showcasing historic campaigns. Even before the digital age, this event united and celebrated Latin American creativity, establishing itself as a benchmark that has supported many in their professional development,” he said.
As jury president for the Production category, Camacho stresses that a winning piece should excel in how the technique and production elevate the creative concept.
“Production serves the idea. It’s essential that the technique complements the concept, making the final execution more emotionally impactful.” He also emphasizes the importance of surprising and engaging the audience, ensuring that the production is not only technically flawless but also capable of evoking a profound response from viewers.
Artificial intelligence: a challenge for creativity
Camacho directly addresses one of the most talked-about topics in today’s advertising industry: artificial intelligence (AI). While acknowledging its potential as a tool, he cautions against making AI the centerpiece of creativity.
“Artificial intelligence is a valuable ally, but it shouldn’t be the focus of the message. As humans, our role is to infuse our ideas with emotion and thoughtfulness.” He predicts that, similar to the aftermath of the Industrial Revolution, human creative work will again be highly prized, distinguished by its capacity to think and feel beyond the capabilities of machines.
Camacho also notes that creativity in the region has significantly evolved. He points out that countries like Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil have demonstrated substantial progress in cultural understanding and the development of relevant and impactful campaigns.
“Latin American countries are increasingly setting the standard, offering innovative solutions and understanding the nuances of our culture.” However, he also acknowledges that there is still much room for growth to fully realize our creative potential and maintain a global presence.”
Innovation and Adaptation: Driving the Future
Camacho discusses some of La Doble Vida’s recent innovations. “We’ve focused on understanding the new era and embracing challenges rather than just seeking solutions,” he comments, emphasizing the importance of strategic partnerships and incorporating new technologies into our projects. Among his recent achievements, he cites successful campaigns for Ojo de Tigre and Tequila de Frente, as well as collaborations on immersive and interactive projects, demonstrating his commitment to innovation and creativity.
As FIAP 2024 jury president, Manuel Camacho aims to not only celebrate excellence in advertising production but also to inspire the industry to remain innovative and adaptable in the face of current and future challenges.
