LOS ANGELES, CA – September 28, 2018 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) –Hispanicize Los Angeles, the ninth annual conference that gathers the nation’s most influential Latinx professionals in the digital media space, today announced that TV host, actor, restaurateur, and New York Time’s best-selling author, Mario Lopez, will be headlining the event’s Friday afternoon keynote with a lively fireside chat taking place on October 12th. at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City.
Lopez will be interviewed by entertainment journalist Rosy Cordero, and will share stories about the highs and lows of his journey as an entertainer & entrepreneur, balancing fatherhood and career, and how he continues to reinvent himself.
Lopez was born in San Diego to Mexican parents Elvia and Mario Lopez, Sr. His father was a municipal worker and his mother a telephone clerk that would always drive him to auditions. Mario began acting around age ten. His first acting gig was on the TV variety show Kids Incorporated. A few years later, in 1989, Lopez became an overnight teen idol playing jock A.C. Slater on the Saturday-morning series Saved by the Bell. In 2006 he appeared on the third season of the reality competition show Dancing with the Stars and a few months later joined entertainment show Extra as a correspondent and weekend cohost, and was soon promoted and hosted weekday episodes on his own.
Today, Lopez is one of the most recognizable and hardest working TV personalities. Outside of his full-time hosting role at Extra, Mario hosts two radio shows including On With Mario Lopez. He recently launched a YouTube channel called “The Lopez Family”, he hosts a boxing podcast on Revolver called “The 3 Knockdown Rule”, owns the restaurant CINCO in Orlando, FL, and has his own tequila brand, “Casa Mexico” with partner Oscar De la Hoya.
