AmericanLatino Cinema (AmLC), a non-profit arts and education organization and Boricua Films present films that stimulate dialogue, promote change, and generate a genuine call-for-action. Films that capture the true essence of the American Latino experience—made by and for Latinos—films like Strike One, a drama about a boy who falls victim to California’s controversial Three Strikes Law and the temptations to gang affiliations. This Sacramento premiere screens Strike One, an indie film directed by David Llauger-Meiselman, written by Lawrence Smiglys and Howard Cohen, and stars Danny Trejo, Johnny Ortiz(American Crime, McFarland USA), Maria Isa, Billy Gallo, James Russo, French Stewart, Alma Martinez, Reginald VelJohnson, Lawrence Smiglys, Felipe Alejandro and Mariano Rivera.
WHAT:
Join us for the Sacramento film premiere of Strike One, where students and at-risk youth have been invited to attend for free. After the film, a Q&A with filmmakers and cast, with singer/radio/TV personality Dinorah Curkendall as the event’s MC.
