MIAMI, FL – January 6, 2017 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – Miami’s top digital creators Los Pichy Boys- Alejandro Gonzalez and Maikel Rodriguez, will serve as 2017 Grand Marshals of this Sunday’s 47th Annual “Parada de los Reyes Magos” (Three Kings Day Parade) presented by Univision Miami TV and radio stations.
During the iconic celebration Mayor Tomas Regalado will present Los Pichy Boys with the key to the City of Miami in recognition of their contribution to the city’s culture.
“We are so grateful and humbled to receive two incredibly prestigious honors of this caliber on the same day,” said Alejandro Gonzalez.
“We owe everything we’ve accomplished to our loyal fans,” said Maikel Rodriguez. “This is an awesome way to kick off 2017 and you can bet we’re going to have a lot of fun leading the parade.”
The 2017 Three Kings Day parade will showcase local marching bands, folkloric groups, animals and floats. The parade will begin Sunday at 12 noon at Calle Ocho, SW 8th Street, between 4th Avenue and 17th Avenue and is broadcast on Univision stations. Special guests will also include “Primer Impacto’s” Pamela Silva, Tony Dandrades, Natalia Cruz and Borja Voces; “Gordo y Flaca’s” Clarissa Molina; “Sal y Pimienta’s” Jomari Goyso and Eliecer Marte and “Noticiero Univision Edicion Digital’s”Carolina Sarassa and Javier Olivares.
Additionally, singer/songwriter Amaury Gutierrez, honored as the Parade’s “Ambassador of Freedom,” will join up and coming Puerto Rican singer, Justin Quiles and cubaton singer, “El Taiger” as part of the lineup.
Los Pichy Boys, the two Cuban jokesters, got their start in 2007 with just a few videos on YouTube. One of their most-viewed early hits, featuring a concept that would later gain them mass following, was a spoof on the Hollywood blockbuster 300. Los Pichy Boys spun the film, based on the ancient Spartan warrior legend, by voice dubbing. The clips became instant classics with relatable Latin cultural dialogue set to the visuals of Sparta vs. Persia. Their company, El Pichy Films Inc., was born soon after. What was once a joke became Alejandro and Maikel’s business. Today, the comical duo has a massive following all over the world including over 100 million views on YouTube, more than 100,000 followers on Instagram and nearly 800,000 engaged fans on Facebook.
