About Raudel Collazo
As a songwriter and a pioneer of Hip-Hop Awareness in Cuba, Raudel Collazo has the admiration of fellow musicians and artist throughout Cuba and beyond. Having launched without funds and with the animosity and a government ban, he has many loyal followers and since his arrival in USA has had many successful events and collaborations.
In February 2011 his song “Decadencia” was chosen as the main song from an album released in Spain containing 29 songs focused on support for democracy in Cuba and prisoners of conscience disc which also included Alejandro Sanz, Willy Chirino, Gloria Estefan, Andy Garcia, among others.
The album was successful in Spain and other parts, selling many thousands of copies. But Miami never physically sold or promoted him, so Raudel Collazo, Patriot Squadron, is still an undiscovered gem for Cuban exiles. We must draw attention to how Raudel expresses the freedom arguments, through a nonviolent message of love and peace, that transcends from his heart. All he asks for is fredom for his people, reconciliation … and changes. His movement of the reality of the island is final, graphic, sincere and contains more energy-intensive music than you heart can take – yet you want more.
“We bring this great artist to Atlanta because as an organization, LISTA stands against injustice everywhere,” said Jose Marquez, President of Latinos in Information Sciences and Technology Association.
He is fighting for our people and cause all by himself and we must support him for his bravery and his conviction. That is why LISTA supports Somos La Raiz del Cambio Foundation and Raudel Collazo.
Marquez says, “He is the real thing, Public Enemy, Run DMC, Snoop Dog… Raudel Collazo delivering the message of the people.”
Raudel continues to drive for change in Cuba, it is a call for hope that all generations say.
Somos la raíz del cambio (we are the root of the change).
