MIAMI – November 19, 2013 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – República, one of America’s fastest-growing advertising, digital and communications agencies, on its 7th anniversary, announced that its employees have selected Triumph Crisis Recovery Center (TCRC) as the second recipient of the agency’s pro bono initiative, Repúblicares.
“At República, we have made giving back to community a cornerstone of our culture”
Repúblicares, a program founded two years ago to commemorate the agency’s fifth anniversary, was created to award pro bono services to a deserving organization within the continental U.S. and Puerto Rico. In 2012, Boston-based Strong Women, Strong Girls was selected as the first recipient of the initiative. This year, nearly two-dozen nonprofit organizations submitted online applications describing their need for República’s services. A committee representing a cross-section of the agency’s staff thoughtfully reviewed each submission to select three finalists. From the three finalists, each República employee had one vote, and TCRC was selected.
“At República, we have made giving back to community a cornerstone of our culture,” said Jorge A. Plasencia, chairman and CEO. “As we mark our 7th anniversary, we are proud to partner with Triumph Crisis Recovery Center and provide them with marketing and communications support that will aid them in raising awareness of their important mission.”
TCRC is a South Florida-based nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the epidemic of domestic violence against women and children, by stopping individual victimization and reducing the devastating impact of family violence through safety. Individuals and families are empowered through education, career training and placement programs, including emergency shelter, transitional housing, children’s therapy, parenting classes, and legal services.
“The families that walk through our doors are all as unique as the situations they are escaping from,” said Diana Markley, TCRC’s operations manager and victim advocate. “Our objective at TCRC is to empower women and children and help them become triumphant survivors. We are honored that República has chosen our organization to help bring awareness to an issue that often times is not addressed enough.”
“TCRC’s mission is fundamental in today’s society and we look forward to working with them on spreading their life-saving message with a broader audience,” stated Luis Casamayor, República’s president and chief creative officer. “Repúblicares is a phenomenal effort and it’s humbling to witness the commitment of our employees in their thoughtful selection of the recipient,” added Casamayor.
Since its inception in 2006, República has fostered a culture of giving back to community and has to provided pro bono services to numerous nonprofits and community initiatives; including the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, Amigos For Kids, City Year, the International Hispanic Theatre Festival/Teatro Avante, Miami Dade College Foundation, Miami Dolphins Foundation, National Council of La Raza, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the U.S. Department of State, Volunteer USA Foundation, and last year’s Repúblicares recipient, Strong Women, Strong Girls.
The 2015 Repúblicares submission process will begin again in Feb. 2014, and the selected organization will be announced in the fall. For more information, interested organizations can visit www.republicares.com.
