MIAMI, FL – September 14, 2015 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – The 2nd annual Miami Web Series Festival, a competition and expo of international web-based television programming from all over the world scheduled September 25th – October 4th, introduces a new division this month, showcasing the best productions from throughout Latin America and Spain as a division of its international film competition. Screened in Little Havana, these productions represent the best independent online content in worldwide competition on the “silver screen”.
The festival, is judged by executives from HBO, Disney, Warner Brothers, and several other prominent leaders in the film industry, and was created to give independent filmmakers a chance to be discovered by guaranteeing direct exposure to network executives.
This year’s special guest is 3-time Daytime Emmy Award Winning actress Martha Byrne, known for her role as Lily Walsh on the soap opera As the World Turns. Byrne will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award and will present the award for Best in Festival.
The event features a major interactive panel entitled “Ask a Network Executive” where filmmakers (and the general public) can ask questions about the inner working of the film industry. There are also screenings, parties, panels and networking events, designed to allow Miami audiences to interact directly with international producers and directors in exclusive environments.
