BURBANK, CA., October 31, 2017 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – EstrellaTV, the largest privately held, minority-owned Spanish broadcasting network in the U.S. unveils highlights for this year’s Premios de la Radio 2017, the only awards show spotlighting the best of Regional Mexican Music in the U.S. – a music genre that dominates the American Spanish-language radio industry. The show will take place on Thursday, November 9th, at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California and for the first time in Premios de la Radio history, the show will also broadcast live from a second stage in historic and beautiful, Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico.
Hosting this year’s event is radio and TV personality Don Cheto of KBUE- La Que Buena 105.5/94.3 FM accompanied by two of today’s hottest Latin stars, Omar Chaparro and Cecilia Galiano. Mexican singer and television actress Ninel Conde will host the Zapopan stage, which will feature performances by Norteño singer, Julion Alvarez, Mexican accordionist, singer/songwriter, Remmy Valenzuela, and Sierreño banda Plebes del Rancho. Other notable performing artists include Alta Consigna, Intocable, and Banda Carnaval.
New this year is the show’s spectacular opening act, which pays homage to the Latino immigrant community, the Dream Act (Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act), aka, DREAMERS. Performing is a group of today’s hottest and youngest Regional Mexican performing artists: Alfredo Olivas, Chiquis Rivera, Christian Nodal, El Fantasma, Gerardo Ortiz, Joss Favela, Kevin Ortiz, Calibre 50 and Voz de Mando.
Premios de la Radio 2017 will feature many unforgettable performances and special moments including Jorge Medina’s world debut of his first single since leaving La Arrolladora Banda El Limon as well as duets by Septima Banda and Enigma Norteño, Ulices Chaidez and Kevin Ortiz, Lenny Ramirez and Gerardo Ortiz, Christian Nodal and Joss Favela, and El Fantasma and Voz de Mando.
The highlight of the night is sure to be the duet by la reina grupera Ana Bárbara, and Mexican sultry songstress, Edith Marquez who will debut “Par de Reinas” and will also perform in a very special tribute to beloved Regional Mexican superstar Paquita La Del Barrio. Also lending her voice to the tribute will be Chiquis Rivera, who will perform a medley of songs honoring the GRAMMY nominated artist. And as a special treat to the viewing audiences, Paquita will also perform two songs.
Another special tribute will be given to accordionist/Norteño legend Ramon Ayala. In an unprecedented event in Norteño music history, two of the genres’ biggest rivals and top bands Intocable and Pesado will come together to honor the Norteño legend along with performances by Remmy Valenzuela, Voz de Mando, Larry Hernandez, El Dasa, La Séptima Banda, Christian Nodal, Jorge Medina and Javier Rosas.
Also, introducing their new singles are: La Arrolladora Banda el Limón with their song, “Entre Beso y Beso,” Christian Nodal debuts “Me Dejé Llevar,” and Joss Favela premieres his first single “Me Hubieras Dicho” from his yet to be released new album. And finally, making their first American TV appearance will be Cornelio Vega y Su Dinastia.
Premios de la Radio, now in its 18th year, is a music awards show voted on entirely by the public.
